11 Aug 2007 - Annual Boat Fishing Competition (completed)
Competition Rules:-
- Fishing will be between 09.00 and 15.00 hours.
- WYC Commodore’s MFV “Anna Lee” will marshal the event; all craft taking part are to monitor VHF Channel 77 on dual watch.
- The permitted fishing area will be Wisbech Channel, Old Lynn Channel, Inner and Outer Gat Channels only, the limit seawards being a line drawn between Boston Roads Buoy and Old Lynn Channel No. 2 (Red) Buoy. The landward limit will be Big Tom Beacon (Nene River Channel entrance). N.B. Permitted area subject to amendment and to be confirmed depending on weather.
- All boats shall have a minimum of 2 persons on board - each angler will have their catch verified by another crew member. Any fish retained rather than released will be verified at “weigh in”.
- A maximum of 2 rods per angler are permitted.
- All boats to keep a safe distance of 100 metres between them.
- Fish will be recorded on a points basis per species and only fish above the legal size limit will count (see table below).
- All Tope, Rays, Smoothhounds and undersize fish must be released.
- The “weigh in” will take place at Wisbech Yacht Harbour at 18.00 hours, followed by refreshments at the Rose Tavern, North Brink.
- There will be plenty of prizes, including the highest scoring individual and the boat with the highest average score per angler.
