Welcome To The Wisbech Yacht Club Website

The Wisbech Yacht Club is a fairly new boating club whos members range in skill from novice to expert.

The Wisbech Yacht Club was formed in September 2006 by a group of berth holders who got together.  The founding members of this were Colin Lee (commodore) Tim Reed (Vice com) Mike Foster Benstan (ordinary member), Clinton Dorrington (Honorary Ordinary Member), Angie Paterson (events secretary) and Mac Cotterell(Honorary Vice Commodore).  Later to be joined by Steve Carpenter (Treasurer) and Alan Wass (Club Secretary).  These members made up the first committee in 2006-2007.

Membership:

Why become a member?  How does this benefit me?  By joining the club you will have unrestricted access to our social activities throughout the year.

These range from boating events such as the Cruise in Company and fishing  to dining.  More info on this is found here.  Another benefit of joining will be the EWASH feature.  This will allow members to sell or swap items, which we will list on our site.  More info on this can be found here.  Members will also have the Newsletter sent to them via email containing information on the club.  The Newsletter will be uploaded on the site under News.

Benefits of the club are somewhat limited at the moment due to the club being fairly new.  However this is to change in the future because we will have our own official club premises at the boathouse estimated 2008-2009.  This is thanks to the Nene Waterfront Regeneration Project which will provide us with the premises.  If you wish to become a member, please fill out the application form (Located At The Bottom Of This Page).  If you have any further questions contact either Angie Paterson or Christian Pearce.

Membership types:

Full Member:  These members enjoy all that the club has to offer.  From attending any social events (additional costs may be applicable for all member types) to voting at our Annual General Meeting on important changes to our club.  This membership type costs £50 annually.

Family Member:  Family members of the full member may join also, at a reduced cost of £10 each however they do not have voting rights.

Associate Member:  These can be partial members who enjoy the same privileges as family members however they do not require to be linked to a full member.  Please note this membership type has no voting rights.  This membership type costs £25.
